We are pleased to welcome Dawn Woods to the Encore Family.  Dawn will be joining our staff to offer vocal coaching, artist development and dance instruction.  Dawn is a singer songwriter who recently had an original song she wrote and performed which reach #27 on the Billboard Dance charts March 2014) and gained recognition world wide.  Dawn has studied and taught various forms of dance and has been a member  the Montgomery Ballet Company in the Metropolitan Washington DC area, the Oberlin Dance Company (Oberlin, Ohio) , the BenGals, and has won several amateur street salsa dance competitions.  We look forward to working with her on a brand new summer program to help connect our students with top notch music industry professionals.  Please join me in welcoming Dawn! We realize, you as a parent, have a choice between several different studios.  We invite you to compare the following features and options before making your decision:  Instructors: Our teachers have university degrees in music and/or dance.  We try to place the students in a class with the teacher we feel best suits their age, personality and goals.  Our instructors have a variety of backgrounds and teaching styles to ensure that parents and students find a good fit.   Class Choice:  Classes are available in ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, tap, clogging, musical theater, tumbling and vocal training.  We also have special preschool classes that are a combination of tap, ballet and tumbling. For the toddlers, we offer Kindermusik to introduce them to music and creative movement.  We offer recreational classes for those students who want to enjoy dancing for fun as well as competitive training for those dancers who aspire to compete on our Encore Dance Team.  New this year, we have a glee group for those interested in a show-choir.little dancer    Age Appropriate Choreography: Our studio has grown in enrollment each year due to the fact that we are determined to keep all our costumes, choreography and music family-oriented and age appropriate.  You will NOT see indecent costumes or inappropriate music at any of our performances.  The teachers are very careful in choosing material for our dancers.  We understand your concerns as parents and we want to do what we can to provide a wholesome, yet professional atmosphere where your children will learn the fundamentals of dance without obscenity. Class Size:  If the class has fewer students in it, the child will receive more personalized attention, learn more and have more fun.  A smaller class ensures the students are not missing fundamental concepts and do not develop bad habits or improper technique.  We limit our younger dancers’ classes to 12 students per class. Facility:  Our new facility features a professional floating dance floor, covered with a marley floor, which prevents fatigue and reduces injuries.   We are conveniently located near Bridgewater Falls at the corner of Bypass 4 and Tylersville Road.  We have large waiting rooms for the parents, as well as many viewing windows for parents to watch their young dancers participate in class. Customer Service:  We have a knowledgeable, helpful staff to assist you during class times.  We help you with scheduling, purchasing dancewear, making payments, etc.  We also publish a monthly newsletter to keep parents advised of all the exciting things going on at the studio, such as “Fun Fridays”, “Student of the Month”, “Bring a Friend for Free”, and important recital information.
